Digital painting done in Photoshop, all with standard round airbrush and tablet.
This is Renna Tanner from "Desert Spear" by Peter V. Brett. I love these books, and have been meaning to do some illustrations for them for a long time. She is in the forest and has just fought a wood demon, pinning it to the ground. The wards on her skin are reacting with the demon, causing it to glow with power as she strangles it.
Took around 10-12 hours total. No reference images were used...which i found VERY challenging ^____^ Please let me know what you think, good or bad!!!
